Ruth E. Foley
She teaches English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for a nonprofit organization in Massachusetts. Her poems have appeared in over a dozen American magazines in the past few months. Her new web site The Lightning Bell which was founded with her friend poet George, seeks to publish the best new poetry they can find. They say although they are rooted in the East Coast, they are open to other sensibilities. (Aug. 2001)

Akari Miki
She is an installation and performance artist, who uses shape, word and sound as means to seize a moment in space. She was born and raised in Tokyo and spent half of her lifetime in the United States. She received her MFA degree in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She currently enjoys sharing her creative responses with children, collecting seedpods and encountering unknown pathways in Japan.

Pradip Choudhuri
He was born in 1943. In Calcutta, He created "Pphoo" a trilingual review in Bengali (his mother tongue), English and French. Numerous texts or books translated from Bengali or written in English, published in the U.S.A: for exemple "the Black Hole" (Inkblot, California); Also in Japan, especially in the review Blue Beat Jacket, directed by Yusuke Keida(Niigata), then, in France and in Belgium. He is a poet and a translator. Recently, "Pphoo" had a prize of francophony in Bergerac (France).

プラディップ・チャウドリ
プラディップは、1943年生まれの詩人、翻訳者です。カルカッタで、三ヵ国語（ベンガル語／プラディップの母国語、英語、フランス語）のレビュー誌「Pphoo」を創刊。ベンガル語から翻訳された、あるいは英語で直接書かれた多くの作品、本を米国で出版（"the Black Hole"/Inkblot, Californiaなど）しています。また日本の文芸誌（ヨースケ・ケイダ監修「Blue Beat Jacket」／新潟）、フランス、ベルギーでも作品が出版されていまます。最近、「Pphoo」はフランスでFrancophony（フランス語圏文化組織）の賞を受賞しました。

Luis Del rio Donoso
He is a poet, translator, lecturer and publisher, who has developed most of his work in Paris, France. He actually develops and promotes an intense pluricultural activity in France, Europe and Latin America. He created "La Porte des Poetes" in 1986, a magazine which main purpose is to promote a cultural exchange between poets, writters and any people who is interested on these subjects (the magazine is published in a bilingual french/ spanish text). Lucho Del Rio, as he is well known among his friends, has written six poemarios, which have been published by different editorials. Apart from that, his poems have also been published in newspapers and magazines in different countries around the world. He has got a Doctor degree from the University of the Sorbonne and his conferences turn on the History, Culture and Literature of Latin America peoples. He was born in Santiago, Chile in 1944, his nationality is Franc-Chilean. Since 1984, he lives and works in Paris, France.

Marek Lugowski
He is a Polish-born Poland/US-educated American poet and translator. He is the president and editor of A Small Garlic Press, a 501(c)(3)Nonprofit Corporation run out of Chicago by him and several volunteers across the internet. See more details about him.

Jennifer Hill
Jennifer Hill is the author of four books of poetry, and most recently one book of prose titled "POETRY: A Girl's Guide to the Sport." A Pennsylvania Council on the Arts rostered poet, Jennifer conducts poetry residencies in schools and community centers throughout the state of Pennsylvania. She is editor and co-founder of Paper Kite Press.

Valeriu Stancu
Poet, novelist, translator of French, publisher, Valeriu Stancu was born in 1950 in Iasi(Romania). He is a specialist in French literature. He manages "Cronica", a publishing company whose specialization is Romanian and foreign poetry, especially French. He also manages the cultural review "Cronica", which contains numerous pages dedicated to the French-speaking poets in Romanian cultural life. Apart from Romania, his own books are published in many countries, including France, Belgium, and Germany.

Alex Jones
Alex is a Bermudian-born British translator (Japanese > English). After graduating from Edinburgh University he came to Japan and taught English in a junior high school in Kumamoto for three years, returning to the UK last year(2005) to do an MA in translation. Alex has translated several poems for Happano: "Dawn Cafe Au Leit", "At the Mountain" by Sansei Yamao, and "Rainy Day" and "Letter" by Chidori Tanaka on Fragments #5.
"The little mark on my cheek" was published both in paper book and on the web in 2006, which was translated into English by Alex. He now lives in Beijin, China.

Phillip John Usher
He is the founding editor of Annetna Nepo, a print and on-line poetry review. He earned his PhD in French from Harvard University and currently teaches at Brooklyn College ( City University of New York).
He translated “Dans les impasses du monde” (No Through World) and “Au Chevet des mots” (A Step Iniside) by Denis Emorine ( Ravenna Press, USA). His translation work on Happano website is "Innocence," the collection of short stories by Denis Emorine. He also writes the review on "Step into Sky" (English language haiku) published in Happa-no-Kofu, and contributes review to the collection of reviews about "ON A SMALL BRIDGE IN IRAQ" written by Natsuki Ikezawa.

Kazue Daikoku
She started translating when she happened on a photograph by Robert Frank in a book. After encountering the work of Robert, she discovered the work of his wife Mary (a sculptor and painter), and from there she found Terry Williams (a writer and naturalist), and finally she reached Mary Austin, who is the most important author for her. The first whole book she translated was a poetry and picture book "Desert Quartet - An Erotic Landscape -" (unpublished), in collaboration with Terry Williams and Mary Frank.
She is an English - Japanese translator, and also an editor and the publisher of Happa-no-Kofu. Her translation works are "The Basket Woman: A Book of Fanciful Tales for Children," "The Deer-Star -Amerindian Songs-" both written by Mary Austin, "Strings - The Lives of Two Yakama Indian Women in the 1800s," by Paul Brooke, "The Yalu Flows - A Korean Childhood") by Mirok Li, and other several publications (some of them were published in print). She lives in Kawasaki, the suburbs of Tokyo.
