You run and jump, and climb faster and higher than me.
I follow you, determined to be like you.
Your words make sense, and big people listen.
I point and send sound through my lips,
Trying to talk with you, that you are already gone--
Up the steps and down the shiny red slide.
Straight for me,
Hitting me with the soles of your shoes,
Knocking me down into the wood chips.
I cry. Mama tells you to say sorry.
You refuse, but I throw my arms around you anyway,
and hug you.
I love you, big brother.

Priscilla Rowery
She was born in Oregon, U.S.A. She writes poems since she was in the university from time to time. While she was studying education at a graduate school, she was interested in reading childrens books (aloud) as part of the course of her study. Now she is busy at taking care of two little sons and she does substitute teaching of Spanish with 3rd greaders and she enjoys both.
