| about the book |
Yukari Miyagi, an Illustrator, who is the author of "The Deer-Star" and "Rabbit and Turtle," participated the project of murals for temporary walls in Hiroo, Tokyo. Hiroo is the one of the topical spots in Tokyo, which is next to Roppoingi, Ebisu and Aoyama. She drew a polar bear, a deer, a colt, a dragonfly, a butterfly, birds, flowers, trees and landscapes of four seasons in lively description.
When you go there to see the walls you will find a group of highrise buildings in Roppongi over the walls, and the construction site and big cranes inside the walls, in contrast with Yukari's delicate lines. The walls look like a kind of nature preserve, or a paradise of the town.

<About the temporary walls>
The temporary walls are about 3 meters high and 343 meters long. The drawings were printed on large plastic sheets using an ink-jet printer and attached directly to the walls, which are made from metal plates. The drawings were set up on the walls from October 3-14 2006 during the first phase of construction, and also from March 8-9 2007 during the second phase. The walls will be dismantled in about two years, depending on the progress of building operations.
