著者について
ハビエル・ビベロスは、パラグアイの作家。1977年、パラグアイの首都アスンシオンに生まれる。コンピューター・エンジニアを職業としつつ、書くことを天職と感じている。これまでに詩集や小説など８冊の本を出版。いくつかの作品は現代パラグアイ人作家の作品を集めたアンソロジーに収録されている。
Esta es una colección de haiku del escritor paraguayo Javier Viveros, están redactados en español (algunos en guaraní, lengua nativa de Paraguay) con la correspondiente traducción al japonés; una edición bilingüe. Nos dice el autor: "Mi relación con el haiku es la historia de un amor a primera vista".
Una editora y traductora japonesa encontró sus haiku en Internet, le parecieron agradables por lo que contactó al autor y con su aprobación planificó esta versión en español y japonés. La editora asegura que los haiku de Javier son francos y de mentalidad abierta, a diferencia de los tradicionalmente escritos en Japón; a estos haiku los encontró nuevos, únicos por su estilo y expresión.
Hay 100 haiku en este libro, en ellos el lector podrá hallar a un joven paraguayo que es apasionado por la literatura y cultura de todas las épocas, hablando de su amada, de las pequeñas criaturas y de los paisajes llenos de soja que hay en su patria.
Javier Viveros: Nació en Asunción (Paraguay) en 1977. Ingeniero informático de profesión y literato por vocación. Lleva publicados ocho libros, entre poesía y cuento. Textos suyos fueron incluidos en antologías internacionales de narrativa paraguaya contemporánea y del Río de la Plata.

テネメント（借家のアパート）の向こうにみえる、ニューヨークの風景や日常を、軽やかに、ときにシニカルに切りとって描写した三十九句。今回のPOD版では９.１１以降に書かれた俳句を一句追加しました。ソーホー、バッテリーパーク、トランププラザなど日本人にもよく知られた地名があらわれる一方で、深夜のペンシルバニア駅、ロッカウェイ・ビーチなど、この街のごく普通の日常風景も淡々と描写されています。
著者について
ポール・デイヴィッド・メナはアメリカの詩人、1992年から俳句を書きはじめた。現在、アメリカ俳句協会、ボストン俳句協会に加え、複数のネット俳句コミュニティのメンバーとして活動している。
This is a collection of haiku written by an American poet, Paul David Mena, with the Japanese translation; a bilingual book. "tenement landscapes" is Paul's first book in which he cut out and described the landscapes of New York and people's daily life seen through tenement houses, lightly and sometimes cynically. The first edition of this book was published in September, 2001, just after September 11. The author says, "I was raw with emotion and frankly had a tough time writing about it." But he was able to look at the event objectively and could finally write about it, New York, again. We added a haiku which he wrote after the event, in December 2010, in this book.
Paul David Mena has been writing haiku since 1992, and is currently a member of the Haiku Society of America, the Boston Haiku Society and several on-line haiku communities. He has contributed to Frogpond, Modern Haiku, The Heron's Nest and Brussels Sprout, but more recently can be found on Twitter, where he attempts to post at least one new haiku every day

著者について
ジョン・サンドバックは、カリフォルニア州サンフランシスコに生まれ、生後18ヶ月のとき、ミズーリ州カンサス市に移る。サンドバックはカンサス市のミズーリ大学に進学し、そこで美術史を専攻する。1966年より占星術を仕事とし、占星術やカラー・セラピーなどの著書が６冊、ほかにファンタジー短編集も出版している。
In this book the author has written haiku about woods, clouds, rivers, crows, the moon, rain, and crystals in Missouri where he lives. His poems bring a new and unique feeling to the haiku form.
The uniqueness of his haiku is believed to come from the land and the weather. He says, "Missouri is on the edge of several different climate zones, so the weather here is very unpredictable and hence always changing and quite interesting. In the south of Missouri are the Ozark Mountains, which are so very ancient that they are only hills today, and covered with forests."
John Sandbach was born in San Francisco, California, and moved to Kansas City, Missouri when he was eighteen months old. He has written six books on astrology and various metaphysical subjects, such as color therapy, as well as a book of forty fantasy stories.
