Mugi Takei
I'm a US born Japanese artist. I graduated from an art school in Boston. I studied painting and printmaking. I'm addicted to traveling. I like cars, bikes, feet, everything that moves. I've been mainly making drawings and paintings in the last few years. I just started being involved in performing art and video projects recently. My work is often about attachment. I paint and draw from memory. I work with figures of close friends and family, lovers and ex lovers of friends and of my own, people from TV and film actors, magazine models, people I knew before, and the ones I saw somewhere like in trains or shops. I play with my memories, by editing and distorting I make up new images.
